New Single From Plastic Horizon

Recently, my daughter was describing how she felt a wave of great memories, flooding her mind. It was a bittersweet observation from the point of a child in the middle of a pandemic, closed schools, and being isolated from her friends. It inspired me to create this track and recall quite a few great memories of my own.The third single released by Plastic Horizon, inspired by my daughter....

It Was 40 Years Ago Today: Cars by Gary Numan

It Was 40 Years Ago Today! Cars by Gary Numan I was but a mere twelve-year-old kid in a small town when Cars was released on August 21, 1979. It's a mystery where I may have heard it for the first time, but it changed my perspective on music permanently. The striking intro of warbly synth sounds abruptly broken by a snare drum, followed by the unforgettable sound of the Polymoog's Vox Humana patch still has such a deep impact on me even after 40 years! While I recall having heard synthesizers used in music and soundtracks prior to Cars, this......

Gary Numan “Love Hurt Bleed” Remix Contest

Gary Numan "Love Hurt Bleed" Remix Contest Recently, Gary Numan judged a remix contest for his new song "Love Hurt Bleed." I entered a Rodin Coil remix for fun and enjoyed working with his original stem files which sounded fantastic. I did slow it down and make it a bit heavier with a nasty vibe. There were some great entries and this is my favorite out of the remixes. Here is the......

The Origin Of How I Began Writing Electronic Music

The Origin Of How I began Writing Electronic Music To explain the origin of my own electronic music, I have to look back at horror films and television programs. As far back as I can remember, I have enjoyed electronic music and film scores and even aspired to writing scores for movies (a guy can dream, right?). While I prefer film scores that use electronic compositions or any hybrid which incorporates synthesizers with rock or classic orchestration, my interest in music with synthesizers/electronic music is very diverse. I've said it before and I will say it again. Synthesizers, to my......

Before After Again: A New Music Side Project

Before After Again: A New Music Side Project Before After Again is a new music side project I am working on with Jason Whitcomb. Jason is also one of the Bile Brothers from our Cambium project. Before After Again is influenced by electronic, darkwave, coldwave, and post-punk sounds, just to name a few genres. Jason and I started working on music together a couple of years ago. Since then, we have accumulated quite a few songs in our catalog. Some of our songs ended up on the Cambium album released by Overlook Hotel Records, while others are part of The......
