Campfire Radio Theater – “The Heretic’s Handbook”

We are proud to present the latest episode of Campfire Radio Theater, titled “The Heretic’s Handbook.” Once again, we are fortunate enough to have gathered a talented cast to bring this fiendish fun to life.

For this specific score, creator John Ballentine’s notes requested a more abstract musical direction. I was more than happy to oblige, creating a soundscape that mirrors the disorientation of the characters. This episode is perfect for people who enjoy hiking… or perhaps it serves as a warning against it.

The Benchmark of Audio Horror

“The Heretic’s Handbook” continues the tradition that has made Campfire Radio Theater a standout in the medium. Listeners on Podbay have described the show as “the benchmark of audio drama,” noting that the immersive 3D sound design creates “literal horror movies in your ears.”

While many podcasts rely on narration, this production delivers a full-cast performance that critics have compared to a modern take on Nightfall or Tales from the Crypt. If you are looking for exceptional voice acting and audio production that “sets a new standard for audio drama,” this episode is a perfect example of that craft.
