The story follows Simon Itani (Malek), a small-town radio DJ in New Hampshire fighting to protect his family and community after the power grid goes down nationwide, upending modern civilization. Combining high-stakes drama with immersive sound design, it captures the terrifying reality of a world suddenly plunged into darkness.

Season 2 picks up after the Itani family’s escape. They cross paths with an old family friend, Wren (played by Aja Naomi King), who recounts her experience getting out of Boston. But can she be trusted? And what truths remain to be uncovered about the origins of the blackout?
