Woods Ferry by Campfire Radio Theater - a Parsec Award Winner

Campfire Radio Theater – “Woods Ferry”

We journey down a long dirt road to a place time forgot. “Woods Ferry” is a standout episode in the Campfire Radio Theater catalog, having won the 2017 Parsec Award for Best Speculative Fiction Audio Drama (Short Form).

Written, directed, and produced by John Ballentine, this tale is a love letter to the weird fiction of H.P. Lovecraft, exploring the creeping dread of small towns with big secrets.

The Story: The Lost Town

“There were forgotten places across that rustic countryside… The land slumbered in these lost places under a raw earthy veil and concealed ancient secrets… as did those sleeping dead buried shallow in the rich fertile ground.”

A group of weekend explorers searching for antique treasures stumbles upon Woods Ferry, a town consigned to the dustbin of memory. The local lore speaks of a decades-past evacuation, but as the group soon discovers, the residents didn’t just leave, they were driven out by an unspeakable truth that still lingers in the shadows.
