Fall Foliage 2013

Fall Foliage 2013 It's that time of year in Cincinnati where we generally have a beautiful display of fall foliage. Over the last few days, the colors have been very vivid and the weather quite good. I decided to grab my camera and head out for my annual leaf shoot. I have been shooting fall leaves almost annually for years and really enjoy it. Ohio is a great place for those who enjoy leaf peeping and photography. On my short list of places to visit was Ault Park. Ault Park has a great garden/arboretum worth checking out. The park is......

Toxic Web Is Released! New EP Available For Free Download.

Toxic Web Is Released: October 4, 2013! I am proud to announce the release of the first EP by Toxic Web on Overlook Hotel Records. Jason and I have written a lot of music in the last couple of years. Some of it has been very dark, indeed. Fortunately for us, the inimitable Deanna Quijada embraced that very darkness and has delivered some fantastic writing and vocal contributions to form the Toxic Web project. Toxic Web isn't just another electronic music project. Some people argue that electronic music has no heart or soul. I beg to differ and present to......

The Origin Of How I Began Writing Electronic Music

The Origin Of How I began Writing Electronic Music To explain the origin of my own electronic music, I have to look back at horror films and television programs. As far back as I can remember, I have enjoyed electronic music and film scores and even aspired to writing scores for movies (a guy can dream, right?). While I prefer film scores that use electronic compositions or any hybrid which incorporates synthesizers with rock or classic orchestration, my interest in music with synthesizers/electronic music is very diverse. I've said it before and I will say it again. Synthesizers, to my......

Drum Injuries: Drumming Is Dangerous!

Drum Injuries: Drumming Is Dangerous! I'll start from the beginning...from birth, but first, a disclaimer. This long-winded blog is not intended for personal use or to be taken internally, nor is it to be used as instructional material. Some of the information contained therein is purely conjecture, wildly inaccurate, highly improbable, and even possibly a lie. Some of the stories are based on actual events. Names have been changed to protect the guilty innocent. If you have a drum solo that lasts longer than four hours, seek immediate medical attention. The oldest joke about raising children may be that they......

Before After Again: A New Music Side Project

Before After Again: A New Music Side Project Before After Again is a new music side project I am working on with Jason Whitcomb. Jason is also one of the Bile Brothers from our Cambium project. Before After Again is influenced by electronic, darkwave, coldwave, and post-punk sounds, just to name a few genres. Jason and I started working on music together a couple of years ago. Since then, we have accumulated quite a few songs in our catalog. Some of our songs ended up on the Cambium album released by Overlook Hotel Records, while others are part of The......
