FORGOTTEN SOUNDS NO. 001 - THE 100-YEAR-OLD COWBELL
======================================================================

Thank you for downloading the first release in the Forgotten Sounds
series!

Forgotten Sounds is an ongoing project dedicated to preserving the
voices of antique, overlooked, and repurposed objects through
professionally recorded sample libraries that are free to use in music
production.

This collection captures the voice of a small forged iron livestock
bell dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.

Whether you use these recordings as traditional percussion, lower
their pitch for a heavier metallic voice, or transform them into
something entirely new, I hope they find their way into music that
would not have existed otherwise.

eliminate unwanted rattling and allow the forged metal body to resonate
freely.

- Clearer, slightly more open attack

Side B
- Darker, warmer, and more staccato resonance

Both sides include the following performance variations:

• Wooden Tip
• Wooden Shoulder
• Hand-Muted

SUPPORT FUTURE RELEASES
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Every Forgotten Sounds library is made available as a free download.

Creating each release requires time spent finding unusual objects,
recording and editing the samples, photographing the sound sources,
writing the accompanying articles, and maintaining the website.

If you've found this library useful and would like to help preserve
more forgotten voices, you're welcome to support future releases.

and keeps the libraries free for everyone.
